FYI. You may be aware already, but there is a strange log in bug on the forums. I have this issue both on my PC and on my phone. If so, great. If not, here is what is happening. It goes as follows:
1.) I am not logged in. I am on the forums. I click log in.
2.) I go to login and do all that. (Sometimes I get a 404 error on my PC, but using the back command in the browser returns me to Thingiverse main page and I am logged in regardless).
3.) The login defaults me to the Thingiverse main page, not on the forums I intended to be on.
4.) I return to the forums and I am STILL not logged in.
5.) I hit login and it goes through. I am now logged in.
Kinda weird. One would expect to login on the forum and stay on the forum, rather than using cookies to cross pollinate webpages.
Oh, and to the AI chatbot that is going to repeat that back to me, don’t waste your “time”.

Just a note to say I see the same issue here, less the 404 errors.
Starting with a completely clear browser cache, I am not logged in to anything and have not visited any sites.
I go to the Thingiverse main page but do not log in there.
From the main page, I navigate to the Forum page and click Log In. I am prompted to log in and I do so. I get the page prompting me to buy a subscription and click Skip. I am then taken to the main Thingiverse page.
When I go back to the forum, I am still not logged in there. I click Log In and I’m prompted to log in and can successfully log in to the forum.
I don’t think this is a cookies issue, as I did this just now starting with a completely clear browser cache with no cookies and no page visit history.
I see the same behaviour whether I navigate to the forum from the main Thingiverse page or if I type in the forum address directly.

I too have had some of those same errors but I am pretty well always logged in to both so I don’t notice them much and just find them a minor nuisance. I have never really tried to figure out what the problem is as I just try and log in a different way when I have to.

I agree that it’s not a big issue, but it just makes the site look like amateur hour - you’re at the forum page, you log in, it takes you to the main site page, you return to the forum, and even though you logged in from the forum you are still not logged in to the forum. It’s not a big deal but it just looks bad.
Maybe Thingiverse needs QA and usability and documentation staff. Hit me up if you’re looking! I’m available for pretty cheap.

The 404 stuff could be outside their websites control. But that other stuff, yea. The thing about people who use Thingiverse in general are we all seem to be people who identify a need or issue and try to fix it.

For this type of setup I would rather use a single sign-on (SSO) setup. It should use the same credentials and if you log in on one you are logged in on the other.
Yeah, that does sound like a forum login issue. The fact that it happens on both PC and phone makes it seem like something on the site rather than a browser problem. Hopefully the team can take a look at the login redirect/session handling.
…sigh. @luis_cordoba Thingiverse really needs to get a handle on this. These bots are only going to get worse…
Actually, I’m not sure if this last one is AI, I have my suspicions anyway, but I’ll be watching.

Why would an account make that their first post? Its possible but unlikely.

The login seems better. You still have to do it twice but it seems a little smoother.
But, I would REALLY like when I click on the Forums on Thingiverse, it opens in the same tab. That’s getting somewhat irritating. It clutters really quickly on phones.
…Please fix this… It takes way too many steps to log in to the forums…
I’m on the forum, I click login, I do the whole log in shenanigans, it takes me to Thingiverse, I have to re-open the forums, and re-login…
It’s like 8 steps counting the login process…
