I would like to discuss the addition of a new feature where Designers/Innovators could have the possibility to declare themselves as Open for Mentoring on their profile page. They would explain briefly what they are looking for and how much time they plan to dedicate to each of their mentee. Any potential mentee who will look to be mentored by a Mentoring creator will be able to Apply for Mentoring - This will open a popup where the designer will explain what they are looking for into a Mentee - this could include asking the mentee to submit a short cover letter to pitch why theiy should be accepted. The Mentee will then be able to submit their application. Further conversation will happen between them outside Thingiverse or possibly on Thingiverse.
Mentors will have the option to show on their profile the people they are mentoring and the ones they have mentored. This will help the artists showcasing their care and contribution to the community. The mentees will also have the option to list the mentors they are in relation with. This will help the community to show their gratitude to their Mentors and reinforce the link between the community members.
