I pay for my online purchases with Paypal. Yesterday Paypal icon had disappeared from the payment options and following my query to the site was told Paypal is removing its payment fron all 3D sites. I am assuming handguns is the reason ) I will not be at the online discussion (2.00AM for me) but will be interested in what the Admin think.

Hi Kerry,
I’m confused about what website your mentioning or who you talked to about this?
Hi Roman,
In response to your email, below is an extract from the email I received. My concern is not with the gun stl restriction but with the need to put my credit details on a website, because it is not IF but When a site gets hacked.I will need to get new credit and access cards and at 87 yo I do not need that hassle.
As my Thingiverse download history shows nearly all my STLs are railway related. Files on the site are free, but should paid files be introduced, hopeful a logarithm will restrict gun items from being listed.and Paypal can be used for all purchases.
As you are aware authorities in various countries are struggling to find a means to prevent illicit use of 3D printing
Thank you for your message and sorry to hear about this.
For reasons related to PayPal’s terms and conditions, PayPal has informed us that they do not want PayPal to be used on items related to weapons/arms and 3D printing. Even if they are toys, non-functional replicas, airsoft, etc. they don’t want to hear about it.
We have therefore unfortunately had to remove PayPal for these types of files on our site
