Request Board on Thingiverse

How about a page where people working on their own models can upload them and ask for help fixing issues or altering something about them from fellow creators? For instance, lets say someone makes a D20 with custom art for the faces on each side, but they have trouble with the font or centering of the numbers. They could post the model link and request on the board and anyone could pick up the request and fill it, then post the altered model as a remix.

So like a group for people in the community who want help/can give help to others?

More like a board for the whole page so anyone that needs help with a model can ask and anyone who wants to help can. Would not be anything like a group or chat area, but something like an old school message board or forum kinda like what this is posting on. And if not like that, maybe add a help request tab as optional on any thingiverse post so you can put your request in there and have a thread for comments and discussion. I see it happen a lot in the comments of models, so giving it a dedicated tab or section might be helpful for people needing assistance.

That’s a great idea! In your mind, you would upload a model in a similar fashion to how you upload a Thing today, but you would tag that Thing as “request for help”?

For now, we could probably hack something together quickly with Work in Progress, and make all Work in Progress Things searchable, so people who would like to get invested in helping others could easily browse those Things and at least find the comments. But I agree that a dedicated tab would be nice.

On a Project page, do you think this could look like a Github Issues section?

Yeah, it would be either a seperate search page or a specific tag you can place on a thing you are making. Seems like it would be the simplest way to do it.
