Thingiverse Design Challenge: Capture Challenge!

Give us your best shot in the latest Thingiverse design challenge! This time around, we’re looking for dazzling designs that will help someone snap that perfect pic! Enter now for a chance at a cash prize!

Capture Challenge

Calling all makers, photographers, cinematographers, and tinkerers; this one’s for you. We’re challenging the Thingiverse community to design 3D printable accessories and tools that support the art of image-making. Whether you shoot stills, video, or something in between, there’s a rig, mount, or modifier waiting to be designed.

Think camera cage rails, hotshoe accessories, lens filter holders, tripod adapters, monitor mounts, follow-focus knobs, DIY sliders, diffusion frames, and more. If it helps a photographer or filmmaker capture better work, and it can be printed, it belongs here.

Prizes

Show off your engineering creativity and win. The jury will be looking for clever solutions, excellent printability, and designs that the whole community will want to print and put to use.

We are excited to announce that expert designer Snappy will be joining our panel of judges to help select the winners based on technical execution and practical application.

  • 1st Place: $500 Cash

  • 2nd Place: $250 Cash

  • 3rd Place: $100 Cash

Winners will be contacted by a Thingiverse moderator via email. All prize decisions are final.

How to Enter

  1. Design a 3D printable camera accessory: Mounts, rigs, stabilisers, lens gear, sliders, studio tools, anything that helps capture an image or video. Must be your original design.

  2. Upload it to Thingiverse: Include at least one STL file and at least one photo of a completed print. Supporting documentation (assembly notes, compatibility info) is encouraged.

  3. Tag it and submit: Tag your Thing with CaptureChallenge and submit before the closing date.
